the purple house auction | APY RENAL FUNDRAISER 2017

In October 2017, The Purple House and the APY Art Centre Collective coordinated a major fine art auction to raise funds to secure a Dialysis Centre in Pukatja, (Ernabella Community), South Australia. Stunning works of art donated by artists from across the APY Lands included many from high profile artists and included paintings, ceramics, work on paper, photography and printmaking. 

The auction was an enormous financial success that saw the total funds raised exceeding initial targets. It will also be remembered as a deeply moving event that spoke to the strength and resilience of Anangu who proactively worked towards securing such a astounding outcome, which will serve to benefit families and communities across the APY Lands for years to come.

The Purple House Auction was presented by Purple House with the support of the TARNANTHI Art Fair in partnership with Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute.
